Happy Giveaway Day and welcome to my blog!
To those of you popping by for the first time, salutations! My name is Mary, and that's my great grandmother and me in the title photo. Her name was Lillian, and receiving one of her quilts for Christmas a few years ago inspired me to document my own sewing. My blog is a way to honor the women artisans of my family and provide context for my work.
What am I giving away? Fat quarters and crochet in a chocolate-raspberry color scheme! (Sorry, no actual chocolate involved. I'd send you strawberries, but the farmers sold out of 'em at market and I don't get to pick up until Tuesday...)
Browns are full fat quarters, pinks are just shy. The crocheted bangle (coffee sleeve?) was made from yarn "rescued" from an ugly thrift store afghan, and the granny square ornament (gift tag?) consists of embroidery cotton leftover from another project. Hooray for repurposing!
To enter, please leave a comment before March 26 and tell me what you do to live simply, live "green" or live holistically. Winner will be chosen by random.org, and comments dated after March 25 will be discounted. I am shipping from Nashville, Tennessee, and unfortunately will *not* be shipping internationally.
Thanks for popping by, and enjoy the whirlwind!

I have never been the first post in a giveaway but I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later- so here goes... We use recycled magazines, toilet paper rolls etc for craft things in my classroom at school. We also blue bag lots of our former garbage and newspaper weekly. The quilt that I am currently working on is made completely from my scrap box- no new yardage used from the stash though the border will use yardage from the stash. We buy used clothing and items from the second store...We also send things that we no longer are using to the charities rather than the garbage. Just a few ways that we try and help to reduce our carbon footprint. Thanks for the chance to win some of my favorite colored fabrics - Raspberry and brown what a great combo. Regards,
Anna
Totes! Lots of totes! I get freebies from everywhere, and carry them in the car for shopping. (And for returning plastic bags to stores from those times I left the bags in the car when I went shopping -- oops!)
I try to increase my families healthy eating habits every month - change something - add something. Of course we recycle and upcycle. Loved reading your blog!
We use our solar-powered clothes dryer (i.e., clothesline) as much as possible, and use a reel mower to mow the lawn. I'm also trying to grow more of our own food in our small garden. Thanks for sharing!
I do lots of things, my latest was to reuse/upcycle some milk cartons for garden tags (they don't run in the rain like wooden sticks do or get covered with grass mulch). I simply cut them into strips & write on them with a sharpie. Then they get a hole punch, some recycled yarn & tied to the tomato cage. Thanks for the chance to win :)
Oh, man, we do everything we can to live simply and greenly. No TV. No air conditioning. No dishwasher. Composting. Mad recycling. Totes galore. Cloth napkins. As few chemicals as possible. Manual lawn mowing. Line drying. You know, the usual. It makes for a fun and busy summer just at home!
Thanks for the giveaway. This is my first time to your blog, and I am smitten with your blog inspiration. Aren't the women in our families just amazing?
sccase (at) gmail (dot) com
I use plastic grocery bags for doggie business:) Sorry that is what popped into my head right away-lol!
I recycle very ardently and am growing my own vegetables
We have huge veg gardens and try to feed as many neighbors as possible. Every little bit helps.
We live on a little farmette and farm organically with a BIG vegetable garden and sweet corn patch (and fruit trees if the kids stop breaking them off!). We also are raising grass-fed beef and we recently got chickens, too.
We hang our laundry, eat little meat (lots of beans and whole grains) and just added 5 chickens to our family . . . and waiting to find out if they are all hens as reported . . .
heh ... I steal stuff out of other people's trash cans and recycling bins... (it's actually legally theft to take things out of trash cans, even after they've been put on the street, I've recently found out, so I do make sure to ask whenever possible! And I generally only do it at work, not literally on the street.) "Are you going to use that piece of cardboard from the back of your legal pad?" is a common question. I've converted the husband to cloth napkins (although he still calls them "towels" for some reason) and recycling (mostly), and we plan on cloth diapers.
Nice site; you resemble your ancestor! I'll certainly be back.
I love to shop a local thrift store -- buy almost all of my clothes there. Lately I have been buying pieces of fabric there, or linens, and using them in piecing quilts. I really have fun upcycling!! I have enjoyed reading your blog -- love the quilt the third graders made --it turned out so beautiful!! Love the giveaway fabrics and crochet -- love pink and chocolate! Thanks so much!!
i try to do my part by just using less around the house, water, turn the lights off, etc...
I am excited to have found you and cant wait to look around more when DD is napping! Love your giveaway! So pretty!
In our house we do what we can to live "green". We recycle; maintain and eat from an organic garden; buy locally (when possible); compost; bike to work (when possible); and we cloth diaper and use cloth wipes!
We recycle, use cloth diapers/wipes/napkins, are members of an organic CSA, plant natives in our garden.
I try to upcycle clothes for my kids, I've been sort of failing at it recently because we JUST moved cross country, and I am just now getting my feet under me! Thanks for the chance!
I recycle lots of paper in my art. I also try not to buy water bottles -- I use my Sigg bottle instead. Plus, I avoid anything styrofoam! Ugh!
I purge regularly. It is amazing how quickly stuff accumulates! I love to Freecycle my no longer needed items so others can get use of them!
jinglesells at gmail dot com
I love to upcycle old clothes and use empty containers (egg cartons, thread bobbins) in craft projects!
We use cloth napkins! Thanks for the chance :)
sarah at yesteachercrafts dot com
Veggie garden, homemade rain barrels that water our garden, recycling, using cloth bags and we reuse a lot of pre-recycled stuff in art projects!
we're currently growing our own veggies...i recycle when i can...
love these fabrics!
We love to eat local food from the Farmers' Market, and local you-pick farms!
I love to garden and we've started harvesting some peas and brocolli. I recycle paper and just recently began making fabric totes for shopping.
To live simply and green, I've been attending a lot of clothing swaps to get new clothes and give away things I don't use. I've also been using old clothes, like tee shirts, to make new things!
I try to recycle and reuse as much as possible, but my favorite thing to do, now the weather is cooperating (read: there isn't four feet of snow outside) I am so excited to be able to compost again. I love my compost pile. I even bring home my banana peels and pistachio shells from my breaks at work so I can compost them. P.S. Banana peels are great for rose bushes. Just bury them alongside, and they will work their magic.
Thanks for the chance to win. Pick me!
I live green by recycling and conserving water, having grown up in a hippie town it's hard not to!
recycling - dying old fabric with new colors, growing our own vegetable garden, trying to reuse and fix before letting something go ... I enjoy exploring your blog.
We recycle and use leftover food scraps for our compost pile.
We do quite a few things, and have for years-- most without even thinking about them anymore.
We recycle, compost, can from fruit we grow ourselves, and when I sew/quilt it's almost always from "rescued" fabric.
Your blog header is delightful, by the way!
:)
trishatoo at hotmail dot com
My family has a garden and what we can't grow ourselves we buy local at the farmers market.
I do all my quilt shopping at a "revive" shop. It's a glorious store that people can revive their stash and the rest of us can recycle:-)
Well, lets see. Every week my trash can is half full and my recycle bin is over stuffed for pickup. I also use cloth diapers on my babies :). I do other stuff as I can - I love being green!
jenicagirl at yahoo dot com
I have been doing things one step at a time. We recycle cans. Then we started using the energy efficient light bulbs. Now we are using reusable shopping bags at the store.
lorijo2003(at)hotmail(dot)com
We compost and recycle, and search freecycle and craigslist before buying anything new.
We cloth diapered DD, recycle everything and more, and I make (and sell) my own soaps and bath&body products out of organic and natural materials!
My latest repurposing schtick is making t-shirt yarn! It's so much fun!
piperbellboutique@gmail.com
Anytime I want to buy a new clothing item, I have to get rid of one that I have. It's a rule I made after realizing that I just have too much stuff! I try to apply it in other areas as well, such as books or shoes, etc. Buy one, get rid of one.
I upcycle clothes from the thrift shop or our castoffs to make clothes for the kiddo.
We try to mend clothes rather than toss, and when something is beyond repair I try to salvage as much fabric as I can to re-make it into something else! I love the memories seeing the items in new clothes or bags, etc bring up.
My newest venture in living greener has been to make my 8 month old son's babyfood. I know exactly what he is getting and I'm creating a ton less trash from not buying store-bought. I have also started collecting old jeans from family members to make a great outdoor quilt.
KellyCraftsforKids@gmail.com
I almost never buy new clothes. We get hand-me-downs and look at garage sales. I also use free-cycle a lot for craft supplies etc.
We have a small garden. We always bring our shopping bags. My little girl can always find a new purpose for anything!
We recycle and upcycle. Thanks for the giveaway!
What a wonderful giveaway. I would love to be a part of it. Thank you. atchisonsteph at gmail dot com. I live mostly in Canada but I also have a residence in the states, I hope I can be included in the giveaway.
I recycle a lot, and I buy used things to repurpose them.
We live on a farm and raise much of our own food. It is AWESOME!
Recycling whenever possible, making informed choices about what we buy and how it is packaged, simple things like bringing our reusable shopping bags to the store...
We recycle and use totes.
We thrift a lot, both donating & buying thrifted items. My husband is a cowboy & a leather worker & a hunter. We know how to utilize what the earth provides & produce as little waste as possible. We reuse bags, boxes, envelopes, etc.
I recycle and upcycle. We are also growing a garden this year. Love this giveaway!
I reuse bags, try to use cloth bags, hang my clothing to dry and do a lot of recycling and donating of items. Love those fabrics, beautiful!

We reuse and recycle whenever possible. It was so gratifying to see my adult son sorting his recyclables the other day! The message took!
recycle! reuse what we can... never dump good water down the drain, ue it for plants... consume organic as much as possible.
Lovely giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win:)I am getting better at reusing things! It's kinda fun:)
kweight@byu.net
I recycle and repurpose every chance I get...the latest was cutting up old t-shirts to use as shopping bags..cut off the sleeves, the neckline and sewed up the bottom...wha.laa..
Great giveaway! I am trying to get my family to use ceiling fans more, and less AC. It's hard especially living in the deep south. I also buy a lot of things at the thrift stores, clothes, and kitchen equipment. Thanks for participating in SMS Giveaway.
Clothesline, grocery tote bags, clothes from thrift store, cloth diapers, just to name a few.
Gorgeous! I love the colors! And I use cloth / reusable grocery bags. We also line dry our clothes during the summer!
We shop thrift stores a lot, especially for clothes. :) Thanks for the giveaway. :)
Reusable bags for shopping (at the grocery store and elsewhere)
cute goodies. Lots of re-purposing here, composting, planting, upcycling, thrifting, etc. fun fun fun!
We recycle everything we can, and give to thrift stores instead of tossing stuff we don't want to use anymore.
We have a homemade rain cathcher barrel in the backyard that we water with to try and cut down on wasted water :)
Hey Mary! Lots of great responses. My new chore/project is to fill up a bucket in the tub when I'm trying to get hot water to my end of the house...takes about 2 1/2 gallons each time to get warm. So after 2 times I pour all 5 gallons down (in a swoosh) into the low-flow toilet that clogs up under the house (or at least it did till I started my massive flow treatment). Plumber said there just wasn't enough water in the low flow flush to move the solids past where the shower dumps more water in. Poor home design I guess. Love seeing what you're up to sweetie!
I love finding old cloth feed sacks to sew with.
In order to live green we make use of our reusable shopping bags and make our own laundry soap. Thank you for the opportunity to win this giveaway.
We are trying to live greener by upcycling and recycling clothing.
Thanks for the chance to win! We're living greener by using cloth diapers-the ones we used/use for our 20 month old will soon be used by his baby sister, too.
LauraL444 at yahoo dot com
We are living greener by composting and using the compost on our garden. We also recycle and I upcycle bits of old curtains and, sheets, any material for projects I work on.
We garden and grow a lot of our own food. It's so great to just go outside and pick parsley or cilantro for part of your recipe. Love it.
We grow our own veggies in the summer and recycle. We also reuse as much as we can for crafts with our girls.
We cloth diaper, grow our own veggies, shop at local farms, use cloth grocery bags, compost, etc.
I have been trying to not buy new fabric as much lately and use thrifted things instead.
Love the name Lillian - it is my daughter's middle name, and my great aunt's as well. Living simple is easy with 8 kids - can't buy new so it's all hand-me-downs or thrift store. And recycling everything we can in a city that doesn't help us do so.
My biggest component of living simply is to buy as much as I can second hand. I try to really minimize any purchase of anything new. I even try to buy all of my fabric at the thrift store.
limor477 at aol dot com
I try to reuse things as much as possible. Old shirts become rags, or cut up and knitted into rugs or scarves.
I participate in a CSA and buy as much of my meat and cheese as I can at a small local market from local farmers.
We do what we can to recycle, walk when we can, I love to repurpose or refinish or remake things. The older I get the simpler I have tried to live.
We pack "no waste" lunches and use stainless steel water bottles. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love love love upcycling and finding new life in everything... My hubby calls me cheap, I call it beautiful! thank you for a chance to win. I hope you miss typed and posted March instead of May because otherwise I have really really missed the deadline and I apologize for bugging you :-)
I buy clothes for me and my grandkids (and whoever else I find stuff for!) at thrift stores (1/2 off day of course!) and garage sales . Right now I have a HUGE double stroller in my trunk that my friend found at a garage sale for her 2nd grandbaby coming in August ! I recycle and try to reuse whatever I can . I'd like to tell you I live in an energy effeciant house , but we don't and don't have the funds to upgrade right now . I try to do laundry when I have full loads and I got a clothesline that needs to be put up that I plan to use ALOT !!
Thanks for hosting:) I have chronic illness that has not responded well to traditional medicine. About a year ago, I started seeing a HHP. I already feel like a new person but still have a good way to go before totally reclaiming my health. Natural, whole foods are a big part of this transformation. I try to reduce and reuse whenever possible, as well. Currently, I am collecting non-wearable jeans and chinos for a quilt for my son:) He is graduating from HS this week and I think he will enjoy having a quilt that I made for him to take with him:)
We have lots of green going on around here. Reusable shopping bags, cloth diapers, cloth in the kitchen, line drying, a large veggie garden. I also try to use repurposed fabric and yarn as much as possible in my crafting!
mindfulhome at gmail dot com
We repurpose a lot and try not to throw anything away that can be used for something else. Also starting to get into bringing our own bags to the store.
We are always on the hunt in thrift stores, yard sales... I just got a ugly dresser painted black and I refinished it and it now sits in my sewing room holding my charity fabrics... from trash to treasure...
I do a lot (or at least I think it's a lot) to live simply. I think I have all the basics covered: recycling, upcycling, saving old clothes for future fabric projects, saving all scraps for stuffing, composting... I'm even going to have a booth at the Farmer's Market this year, that doesn't start until JULY!.
Hi Mary--
Thanks for your comment on Green Bag Lady! :) Yay Nashville! I am a professor at Belmont and noticed that you are in education too…
Would love to meet you sometime. I have a group of ladies that meets every Sunday to work on bags if you are interested. We have a great time, gab, eat chocolate, etc. It' s like a modern day quilting circle expect with bags! We meet at Belmont, what neighborhood are you in?

We recycle and reuse items in new ways. We also keep totes in our car at all times so we don't have to use plastic bags. Thanks for the chance!
New "follower" here! I am pretty excited to be participating in a local CSA this summer. We live in NH, so fresh/local produce ONLY happens for a few months of the year! Can't WAIT!
I look forward to reading your blog ~ stop over and visit, if you like fabric! I am participating as well and have headers up for grabs! http://whittskitsfabricscrafts.blogspot.com/
Thanks for offering fun goodies!

I try to upcycle, use lots & lots of hand-me-downs, and eat organic when we can! Great giveaway!
I compost and quilt with old linens:) Thanks for the chance! thurbs8(at)yahoo(dot)com.
I try to reduce (no disposable diapers, paper towels, cups, etc.), reuse (when I forget my bags & have to use plastic they are great for picking up poop on dog walks), and of course I recycle. I also try to buy products that are responsibly produced. Love the farmer's markets on Saturdays!
I live simply by using paper plates for dinner. (We don't have dishwasher so this helps with five of us). Thanks for a great giveaway! izazbz at yahoo dot com
We have switched to cloth diapers and have a clothesline I love to use and we've decided to not replace our microwave that "died" a few months ago! Thanks for the chance!
thanks for a great giveaway. I just purchased an old home and my goal is to have a productive yard. I feel it is useful and good for the environment.
It is so easy to recycle in our community now I feel like I must do something more than just that. I try to bike to work as much as possible. Thanks for the giveaway.
bsyb100 at gmail dot com
I reuse plastic & paper bags and try to lead my family into healthier eating. I also use the clothes line when I can. Neat to see all the ideas everyone posted :)
I garden and I shop at thrift stores.
I do the normal things, such as thrift shop, recycle, etc. I also handwash my dishes to save on water and electricity. (:
myheehaw at hotmail dot com
I try to do what I can when I can. We recycle our cans, our cardboard, our plastics. I have 2 gardens. We use re-usable bags for any and every shopping trip. We unplug all electronics when we're not using them. Even though we live in sunny hot humid florida, we use ceiling fans for as long as possible instead of the air conditioning. I use the water from the kiddie pools to water the other plants we have around the house. Reusable snack bags are used constantly in this house! And I almost forgot our compost bin! Thanks so much for this great giveaway!
We compost or at least we try to. The compost isn't going to well.
We use our bath towels more than once. Thanks for the giveaway!
We have started gardening. We are slowly working toward being more organic with it, but it might take a while since we are new to gardening altogether. It's nice to grow our own food, though!
Thanks for the giveaway!
We get a TON of cardboard where I work, so instead of letting them chunk all of it, I'll take some home to cut out patterns that I use a lot.
we live with another family, and have chickens for eggs and meat. trying to live more of a simple and green life together!
You got my attention with chocolate and raspberry, two of my favorite foods and colors! I grow my own raspberries and a few other fruits and veggies, and compost all my kitchen scraps. Thanks for the giveaway!
I walk most places. eatkin85 (at) hotmail (dot) com
I try to recycle as much as I can, and my husband and I always carpool to work.
starsandsunshineblog at gmail dot com
Hi neighbor! I am in Knoxville and just found you from Sew Mama Sew. I like your blogs intent. I have many heirloom quilts form my great grandmother. I learned to sew from all the beautiful women in my family. My family lives simply by avoiding eating out as much as we can, eating fresh, planting a garden and recycling/upcycling.
nan6599(at)gmail(dot)com
I compost and have a worm farm .
I have been recycling since the mid 90's and well known at my local recycling center. I love your giveaway and the fact that your blog is named after your great grandmother. Thanks for a chance to win. bimbi9 at verizon dot net
I just began using soap nuts this weekend instead of traditional detergent. They seemed to work great, especially with the lavender sachet in the dryer. I'd love to cut out the dryer as well, but hanging my laundry is a no-no with the HOA and the roommate.
We try to buy local and organic as much as we can. And of course, recycle.
I love the brown flower one. I think buying used as much as possible is a great way to conserve. I love books. a great site is betterworldbooks.com they have free shipping on everything, and they donate to world literacy organizations for every purchase.
We do a veggie garden as a family.
i LOVE your header picture. it sends chills up my spine. the good kind x
We recycle and avoid plastic bags as much as possible. We are moving toward the new light bulbs that use so much less energy. Your giveaway is yummy looking. Thanks for the chance to win.
Hello, Great giveaway and some really thought provoking comments. We recycle, reuse as much as possible but know we can and should do more. Thanks for the chance to win. Linda
rodlindafansler(at)gmail(dot)com
i recycle and bring reusable bags shopping
I try to recycle and reuse as much as possible.
We are big on recycling around my house. We try to show my two boys a better way of life by cutting back on water, electricity, and natural gas. We ride our bikes or walk when we can. I'm just trying to teach them what a wonderful world we live in and what is going to have to be done for it to stay this way!
Hello,
We recycle and compost
I make my own laundry soap, garden, sew reusable anything! bags, washcloths, un'papertowels..thank you for this giveaway. love that fabric. i am a follower :)
First, I love your title photo - so creative and beautiful.
As far as living simply, I have been working to make our home run more smoothly by establishing routines and attempting to give away stuff that we don't use. I'm also trying to repurpose old clothing and create enough reusable grocery sacks as they seem to disappear sometimes.
I try to reduce, recycle and reuse as much as possible and also teach my children to do the same. We also use reusable shopping bags. Thanks for the chance to win!
mrsmchappell at gmail dot com
I lived in Europe for seven years and got in the habit of recycling while I was there. So I recycle glass, plastic, paper, and I always take a recycle bags to the store and try to use them when making purchases.
We recycle. We use cloth napkins. I don't buy paper towels. I try not to drive as much as possible. We ride the commuter bus to work everyday. I try not to buy crap too-you know that stupid cheesy plastic crap. Vote with your dollars. That's my new philosphy! Great giveaway. I often rescue fabric too!
We just bought 1/4 of a grass-fed cow from a local farmer. We use cloth napkins as much as possible. And now we're considering getting rid of our microwave.
I use reusable shopping bags when I buy groceries. Thanks for the giveaway
I have had a compost pile for over 30 years. I recycle as much as I can. I have a garden and some fruit trees and bottle and can whatever we don't eat first. Our heat is always low in winter and no central air in the summer. I open windows and doors. I use blinds and heavy curtains to cut down heat loss and too much sun. I turn off the lights when I leave the room. One of my next projects is to crochet a bag out of plastic grocery bags. My daughter made one and it turned out fun.
I try to used reusable bag when i go shopping, thanks for the giveaway.
Great giveaway items! We used cloth diapers when my son was smaller, use reusable shopping bags or recycle the plastic ones when we forget reusable. Thanks for the chance to win!
Lovely! Thanks for the chance.
We use cloth instead of paper (napkins, towels, diapers, wipes, bags, etc.)
lovelydomesticdiva (at) gmail (dot) com
We try to recycle plastics and such, we reuse plastic and paper bags all the time, but just this week we planted a small veggie garden! I'm very proud, now hopefully everything will grow!
Well, I admit I'm no perfect "greenie." But I try my best to use only all-natural cleansers, hygiene products, etc. I'm also increasing the amount of organic and all-natural foods my family eats.
Love the fabric! Thanks for putting such a great giveaway together! To live simply I try to donate or give away things that I don't need. Serving others is a big part of my life and I try to think of others in everything that I do!
Beautiful fabrics. I am a big recycler. I could definitely eat better. One thing at a time. I am old after all and some things don't give up easy.
I've planted an organic garden!
reneelasater(at)hotmail(dot)com
We recycle everything daily. Use snack bags that I make instead of plastic. We try to stay away from chemicals as much as possible in foods and home cleaning products, no spray cans in our house (we use soy tarts). And the yummest of it all for a healthier life, we get together and cook dessert from scratch twice a week instead of buying from the store.

lauri(dot)rymar(at)gmail(dot)com
To live green I do many things, but I guess the most important to me, is the fact that I do cloth diapers with my baby girl. She has been in them since she was 3 weeks old and I love them. I also recycle and use reusable cloth bags for my shopping. Thanks for the opportunity :)
I love my re-usable shopping bags! I get so annoyed with myself when I forget to pack them in the car!
Thank you for a lovely giveaway!
We just finished planting our annual spring garden and I can't wait to start canning and eating fresh organic food from home. We also raise chickens for fresh eggs and are getting ready for our own dairy cow for fresh milk, which is sooooo yummy and the only milk my son can drink.
I try to repurpose, reuse, and especially mend as much as possible to avoid throwing things away and having to buy new things.
Thanks for the giveaway!
crazyncrafty(at)gmail(dot)com
Love this color combo. Right now I am able to walk to work 3x a week, and I subscribe to a veggie CSA.... looking to add another green thing into my routine though!
I ride my bike as much as I can :)
I use cloth diapers on my babies!
dvdenter (at) gci (dot) net
We use reusable grocery bags, are members of a CSA, and use reusable snack bags to pack our daughter's lunch. We tried composting, but have fallen off the wagon. I'm hoping that summer will inspire me! Thanks for the chance to win this amazing giveaway.
What lovely fabrics!
My roommate and I have numerous gardens, among them we are up to three for fruits and vegetables. We water them from our rain barrels, and shop weekly at the local farmer's market.
As a seamstress and costume designer, I start all my shopping/sourcing at thrift stores--and have begun thrifting and repurposing clothing for myself as well.
Thank you!
Wonderful blog! I will be back! We live in a small city apartment, and we grow our own herbs outside on our patio. In addition, we are pretty much from scratch cooks!
thanks for the great giveaway
Very nice! I try to reuse everything that I can!!! Fabric, cloths, grocery bags everything!
Well we recently had solar electric and hot water panels installed, and that's pretty green :)
I like to recycle everything* to the point of annoying my husband* and I like to repurpose clothes into new things!
We're trying to do better - this is our second year growing a garden, and our first with a child in cloth diapers.
We only buy local organic produce. It is so much better. We also recycle everything!
Ly
lyannab(at)gmail(dot)com

okiedokiemama at yahoo dot com
i live near nashville...so to live green, i could meet you in person to pick up my prize!
Trying to grow a pizza garden for the second year. The kids really had a great time with it last year. I love your color choices!
Wonderful prizes! We buy locally or grow most of our own foods, eggs & meat. Thank you ;) mamalusco at ortelco dot net
I use my own fabric bags for shopping and I also like to reuse vintage sheets for quilts.
I make beads out of magazines instead of throwing them away!

We live on a farm. Vegetables and fruit from the garden (natural horse manure and compost), conservation program to manage the land, meat from my brother's cattle, eggs from my uncle's chickens, mulch pine needles from under our pines -- you get the drift. It's a way of life. My favorite quilt is the one with fabrics from dresses we had over the years (lots of years too). Thanks for the giveaway.
I love to can food from my garden. Thanks for the fabulous giveaway!
I grow a fairly decent sized garden every year and use it (canning, pickling, freezing) for as long as we can. Cloth diapers, natural cleaners, cloth bags for shopping, daughter uses reusable lunch accessories for school. We recycle and reuse a lot. I actually didn't think about all of this stuff we do until now. Wow
I use my clothesline and post on a blog all about clotheslines and other old fashioned stuff!
http://lifeontheclothesline.wordpress.com/
I also make fun clothespin bags so that others may have a good time hanging out undies! :)
I love to repurpose linens and sheets into fun projects. I recycle, have a rain barrel and use cloth grocery bags. Just love that color combo!
I love to recycle.
I try to recycle as much as I can or even reuse things for different purposes. I love thrift store shopping because something that wasn't wanted by someone else can now be a cherished item for me! :)
Recycling. Reusable Grocery Bags. We now have solar panels out front of our house. :D
being creative, growing food, buying local goods and foods, breathe through the day, laugh a lot, tell lots and lots of stories...
thanks for the giveaway!!
Nice giveaway. To go green, we buy lots of our clothing secondhand, and also when they ask "Do you need a bag for that" at many stores, I say "No." :)
I guess I'm too late but nice to meet another Tennessee blogger:) I recycle!
My husband and I make our own handmade, all-natural soap & shampoo!
