Giveaways :-)

Hey, guess what?

This is my 99th post.

To celebrate my centennial, I am giving away a yard of my FANTASTIC thrift-store-found Alexander Henry fabric!

And I'm sure I'll give away more somethings of a pre-cut and/or scrap nature. :-)

To enter, leave a comment on this post answering the following question:

Imagine you're traveling with a friend to a new destination. To remember your trip, you pop into a locally-owned coffee shop, gallery or boutique, looking for something handcrafted by local artists. What catches your eye? What do you buy? How do you incorporate mementos into your everyday experience of life?

One entry per person. Random.org will select the winner on August 28. No extra entries for blogging or following, but feel free to do so! :-)

And while you're at it, pop over to A Few Scraps and check out the quilt-along I've joined, 'cause she's having a giveaway, too!

So as I am browsing the store, I find a painting done by a local artist in cartoon stlye and in this painting are two friends with over extended smiles, arms wrapped around each other and a huge twinkle in their eyes expecting more adventures to come in the days ahead.

I collect bookmarks and I love quirky earrings so I try to pick up one of each on my travels.
The bookmark is a lasting memento and everytime I wear the earrings I have happy memories of my trip.

When I was young and stupid , I use to get cheapy touristy things..magnets and such...you can only collect so much junk! Now I look to useful items like a granite cutting board made from local granite; quilt patterns from a local quilter; I also like to spy out rocks for my flower garden :)

I am usually drawn to something that is colourful and practical so that it always catches my eye at home and I'll remember the memories of that trip. Beautiful fabric for your giveaway - thank you!
