Evangeline felt Greek, too.
I constructed her dress from a remnant of homespun and made slight modifications from the adult version. I used ribbon for the belt and ties, made only one casing, and put a loop of ribbon in the back center through which the straps could tie.
My grandmother sent me a lovely Dresdner Christstollen tin, and it's just right for keeping Evangeline's growing wardrobe. In some ways Evangeline is paralleling my first experiences sewing on the machine. When I was learning, my Grandmother helped me create clothes for my Felicity doll, and later Granddaddy made a beautiful cedar chest for her. Should I be blessed with daughters one day, I hope they can enjoy these pieces!
