Mad Mod Museum Minidress

Simplicity 2922, constructed of remnants. Top: red dupioni (will I ever learn to pronounce that word?) silk. Bottom: black and white home decor remnant.

Every look needs the proper accessories!

I constructed this dress to wear to the opening of The Golden Age of Couture exhibit at the Frist Museum in Nashville. Since I was limited on my fabrics, I chose to use black store-bought quilt binding for the hem (inspired by a reference here). Love the way it turned out, even the red contrast stitching used on the skirt and hem. I could wear my red patent heels... but we wouldn't want anyone slipping in pools of drool elicited from the men. ;-)

I missed a jaw-dropping sunset completing this look. Was it worth it?
